Michael Without Borders

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” - T.S. Elliot

Welcome to Michael Without Borders. This website functions as a central hub for all of my activities around the world assisting those in need.

Born in 1982, I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I spent 3 years at York University in Toronto, Ontario before moving out to British Columbia where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in June of 2007. In February of 2008 I began my international work by taking a job teaching English in Seoul, Korea.

I look forward to working with people around the world in many different capacities and I wish to share that journey on this website. I also hope to inspire those who also want to make a difference or those who simply just want to help. Every little effort helps, as the following familiar story shows:

 The Starfish Story

Original Story by: Loren Eisley

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently
throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied,
“Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them
back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and
hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked
up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…"I made a
difference for that one.”
